Meeting Minutes 1-5-2017

Water Meeting - January 5, 2017 (Nelson/Grua House))
Notes (Hardly Minutes … I’m out of practice)
In attendance:

  • Trisha and Frank Goss
  • Ron Buzzard
  • Kurt Lusink
  • Bob Evans
  • Nancy and Brent Bixler
  • Bob Carmody
  • Judy Jennings
  • Mary Jane Nelson and Michael Grua
  • Bill Hurst - presiding

The first agenda item was an airing of “concerns” that ended up being a discussion of how to close the $20,000 “gap” between the County’s $85,000 and the final drilling costs.
Concerns about whether or not to disable the old well were left for another time.
The $10,000 currently in our kitty is ear-marked for the geologist, Will Anachuchin.
Bob Evans offered the use of his backhoe, though he expressed concerns about being available to operate it. Brent Bixler said he was also available as a backhoe operator. Bob assured us that he would have no problem dispersing 21+ yards of soil from dig.
It was agreed that the tank needed to be moved away from the road.
Frank Goss shared that “George” had been effective at finding leaks at his house.

The second agenda item was water rates.
Judy Jennings moved that we continue the new water rates until the kitty was back up to $20,000. Bob Carmody seconded the motion. However, after some discussion it was agreed
that the rate proposal would be reissued with some alterations.
Those in attendance were asked to email Bill Hurst with a commitment of $2,000 to close the “gap.”
Kurt Lusink felt that he should be exempt from the $2,000 fee since he was donating the land for the new well.
Bill Hurst felt that we could start drilling as soon as the permit was filed, the driller’s bond issues were solved, and the easement was finalized with Kurt Lusink.
